Absolutely loved the book. Kept me guessing until the last page. Your best, imho.

I was not even aware that book trailers existed, wow. Samples, reviews, and jacket descriptions are usually more than enough to convince me to ante up or not, and then the book is on it’s own to keep me hooked!

You're not missing a thing.

I think I most trust recommendations from people I know. 🤔

Thanks for saying what needed to be said about book trailers. I read 50 books a year and never bother with trailers.

Yeah, same. Id much rather read a review, although I find that personal recommendations are the only thing that really sway me these days...

Book trailers were big there for a while. Are they still?

Used to be, we would show them to librarians at conferences, or fans would make them as a subset of fan art (which was nice).

I would imagine their main use nowadays--if any--would be on TikTok. I hate that the main social media site nowadays is so video-centric; I don't have the patience to watch more than a couple of short videos in a week, let alone a whole stream of them day after day. But if I were into making book trailers and being on TikTok, that's probably what I would try!

Yup exactly. Even on TikTok, I think the idea is to much more informal than official "trailers." It's still an industry of sorts, but honestly, I think it's mostly for the author and hardcore fans and family.
